Paramount is a film/tv production and distribution company and is a division of American media conglomerate Viacom. It has also consistently been ranked as one of the largest and top-grossing movie studios, and has released over 3500 films. Paramount is the fifth oldest existing studio in the world behind Universal studios.The revenue made in 2011 was $1.2 billion and the operating income from 2011 was $300 million. 2012 was the 100th anniversary of Paramount Pictures. It has helped produce and distribute many films, a few of their more recent films from 2012 include; The Devil Inside, Paranormal Activity 4, Fun Size, Flight, Rise Of The Guardians, and Jack Reacher. This shows that they produce and distribute varied genre's, and age certificate films. As it ranges from, cartoon comedy, child friendly to action films 15+ and also to horror for 15 and over for the people who want a fright. Upcoming films this year include; Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, World War Z, and Anchorman: The Legend Continues. Again, Paramount Pictures release very diverse films, so this company could potentially distribute our film as ours is a horror/thriller and is aimed at 15 and over and some of the film's Paramount releases are 15's. Paramount also releases films on DVD, rentals, online sites such as Lovefilm and Netflix and on Blu-ray. This could benefit and help our film do well and earn a profit.
